DAUGHERTY COMMITS TO QUINCY UNIVERSITY
Ryan Daugherty, a 6’-2” senior guard for Fort Zumwalt West High School in O’Fallon, MO, has committed to play for Quincy University in the fall of 2014. Daugherty intends to sign his letter of intent during the regular signing period which begins April 16.
Daugherty was a three year letter winner for the Jaguars, starting all 78 varsity games. Daugherty also played for the Missouri Impact Basketball Club the past four years under coaches Mark Halsell and Brian Walker.
Daugherty is a highly decorated player who was named to the GAC South All Conference, All District and All Academic Teams for each of the three years he played for his varsity team. Daugherty was also named to the All-Tournament teams for both the D.C. Wilcutt (twice) and the St. Dominic tournaments for his outstanding play.
Team honors include being voted Team Captain for both his junior and senior years, Offensive Player of the Year as a sophomore and Most Valuable Player in his junior and senior seasons. He finished his high school career ranked in the top ten for thirteen career statistics kept for his high school including 3rd in scoring (941), 3rd in total rebounding (379) and 1st in three point baskets made (155). Daugherty finished his senior season averaging 13.4 points, 6.7 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game.
Daugherty plans on majoring in Business Management at Quincy and is excited about joining the Hawks this fall. He looks forward to working with his new teammates and coaches and helping contribute to their future success. Ryan’s parents are Sean and Kristy Daugherty and has an older sister Erin.
