The 15u Missouri Impact boys set out this past weekend to attain their first tournament championship. Coach Wells' Impact boys impressed as they ran the table with a perfect 4-0 record with a nice cap on the Mother's Day weekend with the teams first tournament championship win of the early season.
The Impact boys took home the gold in the Midwest Hoopfest 15u bracket. They showed their incredible surplus of talent by getting contributions by all 11 boys while playing multiple starting line-ups and not missing a beat. Coach Wells was said to have had a great feeling about the weekend tournament as he stated, "We had a wonderful week of practice full of energy and hard work. I think we are finally starting to believe as well as realize our potential. We shuffled through gaining and dropping players as we tried to fill out our 12-man roster. Now that we are set for the summer, the sky is the limit for this group of young men. We get unbelievable support from our parents and the boys are very disciplined which will take us a long way."
The Missouri Impact boys are off and running and look to repeat their winning ways this weekend in Belleville. When asked who was his tournament MVP, Coach Wells simply replied, "Family, there is no one player that is more valuable than the man next to him. We rely on all 12 players to help us win games. No one player is asked to carry the team."
Well who would you say had the strongest performance of the four game weekend if you had to award a player for his strong play? Coach Wells replied, "Drewwwww! Andrew Grassi was unbelievable."
Congrats to the 15u Missouri Impact boys and let's go get another one.
